For all who are interested, there is an interest meeting for the community service project Adopt-a-Grandparent on September 23, 2008 in the UC room 218 at 12:15 p.m. It is a great opportunity to get some service hours.

Astronaut to Address Freshmen
Important: Your attendance at this seminar is mandatory for Freshman Seminar. Be sure to find me (I will be in the hallway outside the ballroom) so that I can mark you down as attending. Please do not be late as you will be marked absent (and it’s rude).
Also, we will still meet as scheduled for our regular classes at 11a.m. in the Administrative Annex Bldg (NOT Xavier South or the Administration Bldg), room 217.
per Dr. Boutte:
NASA astronaut, physician and businessman Dr. Bernard Harris, Jr., president of The Harris Foundation, Inc., a non-profit organization he founded in 1998 to develop math/science education and crime prevention programs for America’s youth, will speak at the FRSM Seminar WEDNESDAY (Sept. 17) at 5:00 p.m. in Mary and William McCaffrey Ballroom, third floor of the University Center. The presentation is primarily for freshmen, but everyone is invited. For more info contact James Shade at ext. 5157 or email jhshade@xula.edu .

Don’t forget that this week you all need to go to the Administration Auditorium during your regularly scheduled class to attend a symposium with Dr. Boutte. We will not meet in our classroom this week. Don’t forget your student I.D. as that is how attendance will be taken.
Also, you all are responsible for checking Blackboard and Webmail regularly. That is where I will post all information, assignments, announcements, etc.
I hope you are all having a great week so far!
